Hello! My name is Viji Saravanan, and welcome to Viji’s Kitchen and Catering LLC! My family and I moved to Batesville, Indiana, about 19 years ago because of my husband, Sana’s, job at Hillrom, and we have been here ever since. We are so grateful to the Batesville community for accepting us and helping my family in many ways. I have two sons, Deepan and Kavin. Deepan is currently working in San Francisco, and Kavin is attending college at the University of Pennsylvania (you may see them around in the kitchen sometimes 😁).

I started Viji’s Kitchen and Catering LLC. to pursue my passion for cooking and bring ethnic and culinary diversity to Batesville. What started as a side-hustle has grown into something I would have never imagined! 3 years ago, I started cooking out of my house for a few of my close friends so they could try my food. Apart from catering, I did cooking shows and classes with adults and children! As word spread and more people reached out, I realized I needed to scale my operations! This prompted my move to The Galley, where I operate currently. Cooking for others has brought me so much joy, and I am thankful for the tremendous support I have received from my friends and the community. Excited to see what’s next!
